Don’t forget to claim pension credit if you think you’re eligible – it isn’t paid out automatically, and many people who are entitled to get some pension credit aren’t claiming it. The extra payment could make a difference to your weekly income

You can claim by calling the Pension Credit freephone number 0800 99 1234 or filling in an application form which you can download from www.thepensionservice.gov.uk

If you’re eligible for Pensions Credit, you may also qualify for council tax benefit or housing benefit (if you pay rent). You can claim these benefits at the same time as Pensions Credit when you call the helpline.
