What should my employer do to help me further?

Your employer is legally obliged to make 'reasonable adjustments' to enable you to return to work. What may be considered 'reasonable adjustments' depends on your particular case. You should:

  • Obtain your organisation's written procedures (if any) on supporting people with a disability.
  • You must be fully consulted and involved in the adjustment process at every stage.
  • Many employers prepare a written return-to-work agreement with their employees as the basis of a return to work.
