What time off work are health and safety representatives allowed in order to perform their duties?

Health and safety committee representatives are entitled to reasonable time off work, with pay, for recognised health and safety training and other duties arising from health and safety legislative rights.

Those rights also include:

• being consulted by management on health and safety matters
• representing workers
• consulting the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the local authority
• investigating accidents.
